SPA can probabilistically quantify risk from earthquake shaking, liquefaction, fire following earthquake, flood, hurricane, and other perils, for individual facilities, groups of facilities, or large portfolios such as concern property insurers and local governments. We perform benefit-cost analysis of catastrophe risk mitigation.
SPA can perform an independent review of seismic risk-management studies and plans. Mitigation plans developed using traditional engineering techniques tend to focus on worst-case scenarios and very long planning periods that are inconsistent with practical business decision-making.
We create empirically based analytical seismic vulnerability functions to reflect a specific building and adjustment factors to account for a particular condition in multiple buildings.
